Completed in 1939, the Istana Bukit Serene features a distinct Art Deco tower that famously survived World War II intact. Legend has it that the Japanese army used the tower as a vantage point to spy on Singapore, betting that the British would not dare bomb the Sultan’s palace.
"The Istana Bukit Serene tower is 35 meters high and offers a direct line of sight all the way to Singapore, making it one of the most strategic historical points in the region."
