Johor Bahru's court house that is almost a century old
History
The 'Court House' building on Jalan Dato' Onn was designed by the architect company 'Stark and Neil' in 1928 and was once known as the Johore Bahru Supreme Court. The Supreme Court was created in 1883. A scholar, Haji Muhammad Salleh, was appointed as a Judge assisted by the Government Mufti Syed Salim al-Attas as a legal advisor.
Significance
The Johor Bahru high court now serves to hear cases and disputes that involves jurisdictions over original criminal jurisdictions, original civil jurisdictions and appealate jurisdictions.
