History

The Johor Bahru General Post Office stands on the former site of the Johor Hotel (1899), once a grand landmark and later home to several government offices including the Post Office from 1927. The hotel was demolished in 1962, and the present three-storey Post Office was built in its place, officially opened in 1963.


Significance

Since then, it has served as a post office, known as the General Post Office Johor Bahru, located in Jalan Ibrahim.
